Charlie Schultz of May MotorsportsHello May Motorsports Sponsors,

Just checking in with a race weekend recap.  This was a BIG weekend for supermodifieds as cars from all over the country competed for the King of Wing title at the famous Oswego Speedway in Oswego, NY. Car count total for this event was 35.  A little history, our team was the very first team to win the King of Wings title back in 2009.  We actually finished 1 and 2 for this event.

Charlie Schultz #7 qualified 3rd and Joe Gosek (Local Oswego Favorite and 2011 Oswego Track Champion) was in our #77 car qualifying 9th.  Charlie finished with a 3rd place podium finish while Joe ended his night on lap 29 with an 18th place finish as he was collected up in an racing incident.  Overall, a decent racing weekend as Charlie was good from Lap 1 to Lap 50 and Joe commented the “car was getting better.”

Next up for the May Motorsports is Lorain County Speedway this Saturday, July 14th which will be our 7th straight weekend of racing.

Russell Morseman Racing UpdateHad a great weekend going this past weekend. Started 4th in my heat and won it. Drew the pole for the feature and led it for 23 of 25 laps and got spun out while passing a lap car by the second place car. It was very disappointing as we had the car to beat. Better luck next week I guess... I think I finally have the setup nailed down for the slick track so excited for next week.

Thanks,
Russ

Idaho Rob Coddens Wins Indy NationalsRob Coddens, known as "Idaho Rob", sent in a 2012 race season update.

I wanted to update everyone of what's been happening so far during the 2012 race season. We've got great news!  We were the #1 qualifier in Super Street class in the NHRDA Lucas Oil Indy Nationals and went on to win that event.  We also broke the National record for ET by running 9.81 at 143mph and backed up that record run with a 9.69 at 146mph.  We also own the National Record for MPH at 148 in this class.

We are well in the lead in the National Points series for Super Street as well as being in the top 5 in Pro Street.

I could not have done it without the great Ny-Trex Diesel N2O kit from DEI.  The kit helps with spooling the large turbos in any elevation, is well put together, and relyed upon on most every pass to keep us at the top.  The customer support has been second to none.  I look forward to turning up the power during the world finals and see what the package is capable of!

Charlie Schultz of May MotorsportsHello May Motorsports fans,

The highs and lows of racing is what we having going on in our world.  #7 Charlie Schultz qualified 3rd, finished 3rd in heat with a 7th place feature finish.  #77 Matt Marlow’s number all night long was “5”… qualified, heat and feature all 5th.  The following is a race recap:

Winning the first two Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) presented by Town Money Saver races of the year at Sandusky (OH) Speedway, D J Shullick Jr. made it three checkers in 2012 at the track by the lake. Not to be denied Shullick blasted to the front from his 12th starting spot and swept to the point on lap 10 of the 30 lap feature race. He was followed by his teammate Trent Stephens in the Stout Racing No. 19, who also started in the back in 11th position.

Charlie Schultz of May MotorsportsChecking in with a race weekend recap and these are the kind of recaps we like to pass along … WE WON!!!!   There are wins and then there are WINS.  This was a very satisfying win with Charlie Schultz piloting the #7 May Motorsports red supermodified.  Our cars started 5th and 6th in the feature, side by side battling for position (one of those close your eyes, car owner moments).  Charlie being the seasoned supermodified driver, jumped ahead of Matt (Marlowe #77 driver).  Racing action continued with the last nine laps being a real nail biter with Charlie in the lead and competitor inches behind and we mean inches.  Competitor made quite a few attempts on the inside, then the outside but #7 was the car to beat.  The Auto City Speedway in Clio, MI fans were going crazy along with all of the MSA (Midwest Supermodified Association) as everyone was getting their money’s worth with this racing display.  Matt in the #77 was running 5th and got passed on the final lap by another seasoned driver.  All in all a very good night for team May Motorsports.
