Thunder and Lightning Made Things a Bit Frightening at AHDRA’s Thunder in the Valley Nationals

DEI Sponsored Team Half Fast

August 3-4, 2012 – It was bittersweet to be back at AHDRA’s Thunder in the Valley Nationals at Bristol, Tennessee, for the first time since 2008.

Super Nate Thompson of Super V Cycle (pictured at the left with Chip) – engine builder, machinist, good friend, and our valued sponsor for 8 seasons running – came out to crew chief for us.  It was fabulous to have him at the track with us, and great to catch up, too.

Testing on Friday afternoon started out well enough, and we were starting to make decent headway on our tuning issues when a hellacious storm ripped through the valley.

The rain went on for hours, and the day was done.  Not only was Test and Tune cancelled, but also the scheduled two rounds of evening qualifying.

Hello May Motorsports fans,

Our team competed this past Friday at Auto City Speedway in Clio, MI.  As you may recall, last time we took home a 1st place podium finish.  So we thought we give it another try!  Our team ended up with a # 7 Charlie Schultz 2nd and #77 Matt Marlowe 4th place finishes this time at the Michigan track.  The following is the official race recap.

The Must See Racing Supermodifieds Series (MSRSMS) debuted this past May 20 at Winchester, IN Speedway and Friday's Auto City event was only the second event in the short history of the series. The new series steadily continues to grow as evidence of Friday's event.

Mike McVetta picked up quick time with a lap of 13.529 seconds and an additional $500 thanks to BIOBASED.US and Don Wilshe. Heat races were won by Dave McKnight Jr., Jon Henes, and Matt Marlowe.

Good Afternoon May Motorsports fans,

Russell Morseman Racing UpdateThe last two weeks have been crazy. The previous week I started 5th in my heat and finished 2nd. Started 13th in the feature got involved in a bad wreck on lap 12 and was done for the night. It ended up destroying the front end of the car. We got it all back together for this past weekend. Tried a new setup in the rear and it was really fast. I started dead last in my heat won it. Redrew 10th for the feature and made it up to 4th by lap 15. Was passing for 2nd on a restart and ended up getting spun out by the 4th place car. Went to the rear 23rd and drove back up threw and finished 12th. Car was fast, have a had some really bad luck the last few weeks so hopefully it will turn around and we can finish the year out with some good momentum. We have two more point race left and some open races. I am currently 7th in points.

Thanks,
Russ
