Martino Motorsports 2012 Preview
We are approaching our first race of the 2012 season this upcoming weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway (Indianapolis, IN), which means it’s time to get our Design Engineering Inc. blog fired back up and give fans an inside look of what’s in store for the big season ahead of Martino Motorsports.
Although we had an enjoyable off-season which included a trip to the 24th annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show (PRI Show) in Orlando, Florida; a visit to Daytona Beach, Florida for an exclusive tour of Daytona International Speedway; being guests of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony; and a host of other memorable highlights which are referenced in our social media pages, the 2012 season is finally upon us.
For 2012, our plan is to compete in both the NHRA “Full Throttle” (www.nhra.com) and IHRA “Nitro Jam” (www.ihra.com) drag racing series in the fastest heads-up sportsman class on the planet, Top Dragster. Our main focus of this season schedule will be to compete for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Top Dragster title, and earn a top seed in the IHRA's "Tournament of Champions" in the fall. Our associates have supplied us the best products, tools, and support available in the racing industry, it’s up to us to make it happen.

Social Media Additions
To help accompany our blog updates with Design Engineering Inc. this season, we chose to develop social media pages for our racing program which include:
These sources were designed to help provide you with a behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on in our world and give you real time race updates from the track. These sources are public (you do not have to be a member of any of theses sources to view their contents). Feel free to “follow us" in our quest for a season championship, and share any photos and/or videos you capture of our Design Engineering Inc. dragster from the track and/or personal appearances.
We additionally have a list of big surprises coming your way in the next few months, stay tuned for more hints and updates.
Our first race of the 2012 season will be the first scheduled NHRA Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Lucas Oil Raceway (Indianapolis, IN) April 27-29.
We will be heading to the event on April 26 for a private test session due to uncooperative weather over the past few weekends which prevented us from testing prior to this event. Our plan is to make at least two 1/8th mile passes to make sure everything on our dragster is functioning properly and break in our new Mickey Thompson tires prior to qualifying on April 27.
Lucas Oil Raceway is a track where we have had great success in the past. We are looking to combine said success with our momentum from the last half of our 2011 season to help propel our Design Engineering Inc. dragster into the winner’s circle on April 29 to start 2012 on the right track.
You can follow our social media pages for real time updates from the event and/or tune into www.dragracecentral.com for event results under the heading “LODRS 3-1”, category Top Dragster.
