Charlie Schultz Celebrates After Taking the Checkered FlagMay Motorsports checking in with a race weekend update.  It was another bitter sweet racing weekend.  It was a great night for #7 Charlie Schultz as he took both fast qualifying time and the checker flag in a dominate win!  While #77 Tim Ice unfortunately has had better nights, but this wasn’t one of them.  His night ended early with both a wrecked race car and a broken left wrist.  While Charlie was racing his heart out, Tim was sitting in the ambulance…what a night!

Here's a full recap:

There is only one thing to do when you are leading a late season tight point’s battle, dominate the competition. With only a six point margin in Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) points between himself and the fourth points position it became clear that points leader ‘Charging’ Charlie Schultz came into Lorain (OH) County Speedway on a mission...

Winners Circle - Charlie Schultz takes 3rdMay Motorsports checking in with a racing weekend update. This past weekend was not a race for points, but an opportunity to race with the International Supermodified Association (ISMA). The Friday night 40 Lap race was canceled due to weather and rescheduled for Saturday morning @ 10:30 a.m. There were 33 cars competing for a starting spot in this race of which 27 made the field. The 100 Lap race took place as scheduled on that same day in the evening with 28 cars taking the green flag. Charlie Schultz in the May Motorsports #7 car was 2nd fastest qualifier for both racing events.

Quick top line summary:
40 Lap Event: #7 Charlie Schultz placed 3rd and #77 Tim Ice placed #5th (Podium finish picture enclosed and Charlie 1st one on the left in the black suit holding the water bottle.)
100 Lap Event: #7 Charlie Schultz DNF (Broke Rear End Lap 33) and #77 Tim Ice placed 5th.

The following is the racing recap for both of these events...

Kil Kare SpeedwayAnother bitter sweet weekend for the May Motorsports Racing Team. Both of our cars clocked both 1st and 2nd fastest qualifying positions, but only one of our cars would see the drop of the checker flag.  Interesting enough though, we have now taken both the 1st and 2nd positions in points with our racing organization which is Midwest Supermodified Association (www.midwestsupers.com) #7 Charlie Schultz @497 Points, #77 Tim Ice@ 494, #19 @ 493 and #49 @ 491.  Our organization scores points for qualifying, heats, and features.  So the season certainly is heating up for a points battle with three MSA “wing” races remaining in our season.  So stay tuned as we continue on with our season! Up next for the team, Sandusky Hy-Miler which is an International Supermodified Association sanctioned race next weekend, but first we have one wrecked race car to get back into race ready condition!

May Motorsports checking in with a race weekend update!  The team headed to Oswego, NY this past weekend for the King of Wing annual  two day event.  Unfortunately, mother nature (rain!!!) got involved turning our weekend into a one day show instead.  It was a good “points” weekend for the team as Charlie Schultz in the #7 took the lead with his fast qualifying time and Tim Ice in the #77 is now tied for third with his race weekend 2nd place podium finish...

Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) scorer and statistician Jeff Lickfelt will now log winner number five in as many races as the MSA series continues to roll through the 2010 season making its third stop of the year at Sandusky (OH) Speedway last Saturday night. Sophomore driver Trent Stephens put the hammer down on his Steve Stout owned No. 19 driving to the front from the sixth starting spot in a field of 19 fire breathing Supermodifieds to nab his first checkered flag of 2010. When the chips where down and a late race caution flag flew, with just two laps to go, Stephens was able to master the Sandusky pavement holding off a charging, determined Timmy (J) Jedrzejek.
