May Motorsports checking in with a race weekend update. ISMA (International Supermodified Association) Hy-Miler at Sandusky Speedway took place in front of jam packed stands with cheering crowds and starting the weekend with 31 cars wanting to take trophies home for this two day event. The announcers did a great job getting each team’s sponsors recognized when the cars were on the track.  The pits were filled with race fans and the May Motorsports red supermodified race cars were shined up and ready for on lookers proudly displaying each of your logos.

Friday Night – 40 Lap Race:
#7 Charlie Schulz race car, we missed on set up and began the 40 Lap race loose…loose…loose!
#77 Joe Gosek (former Indy Car Driver and 2011 Oswego Speedway Track Champion) filling in for our regular driver Matt Marlowe) got collected in an unfortunate 4 car pile-up coming off turn three and pit side he came.  Three hours later, car was put back together and ready for Saturday’s 100 lapper.

Charlie Schultz of May MotorsportsGood Afternoon May Motorsports Fans,

Add another win to the books for the May Motorsports #7 piloted Charlie Schultz supermodified!  The race took place at Lorain County Speedway under brutal temperatures, but our team persevered and came out as the victors!  We are now positioned 3rd and 6th in points in our racing series, with four MSA (Midwest Supermodified Association) races remaining on the schedule.  We will be competing in another 4 races with the International Supermodified Racing Series (ISMA).

On the pole was Brandon Fisher with Jon Henes starting outside front row. The second row was Jeff Banyas and Charlie Schultz followed by Bobby Dawson, Kyle Edwards, Trent Stephens, DJ Shullick, AJ Lesieki, Jack Smith, Zack Gibson, Matt Marlowe, Mike Haury and Mark Miller. It was Charlie Schultz over DJ Shullick with Bobby Dawson and Kyle Edwards in hot pursuit...

Charlie Schultz of May MotorsportsHello May Motorsports Sponsors,

Just checking in with a race weekend recap.  This was a BIG weekend for supermodifieds as cars from all over the country competed for the King of Wing title at the famous Oswego Speedway in Oswego, NY. Car count total for this event was 35.  A little history, our team was the very first team to win the King of Wings title back in 2009.  We actually finished 1 and 2 for this event.

Charlie Schultz #7 qualified 3rd and Joe Gosek (Local Oswego Favorite and 2011 Oswego Track Champion) was in our #77 car qualifying 9th.  Charlie finished with a 3rd place podium finish while Joe ended his night on lap 29 with an 18th place finish as he was collected up in an racing incident.  Overall, a decent racing weekend as Charlie was good from Lap 1 to Lap 50 and Joe commented the “car was getting better.”

Next up for the May Motorsports is Lorain County Speedway this Saturday, July 14th which will be our 7th straight weekend of racing.

Charlie Schultz of May MotorsportsHello May Motorsports fans,

The highs and lows of racing is what we having going on in our world.  #7 Charlie Schultz qualified 3rd, finished 3rd in heat with a 7th place feature finish.  #77 Matt Marlow’s number all night long was “5”… qualified, heat and feature all 5th.  The following is a race recap:

June 30, 2012

Winning the first two Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) presented by Town Money Saver races of the year at Sandusky (OH) Speedway, D J Shullick Jr. made it three checkers in 2012 at the track by the lake. Not to be denied Shullick blasted to the front from his 12th starting spot and swept to the point on lap 10 of the 30 lap feature race. He was followed by his teammate Trent Stephens in the Stout Racing No. 19, who also started in the back in 11th position.

Charlie Schultz of May MotorsportsChecking in with a race weekend recap and these are the kind of recaps we like to pass along … WE WON!!!!   There are wins and then there are WINS.  This was a very satisfying win with Charlie Schultz piloting the #7 May Motorsports red supermodified.  Our cars started 5th and 6th in the feature, side by side battling for position (one of those close your eyes, car owner moments).  Charlie being the seasoned supermodified driver, jumped ahead of Matt (Marlowe #77 driver).  Racing action continued with the last nine laps being a real nail biter with Charlie in the lead and competitor inches behind and we mean inches.  Competitor made quite a few attempts on the inside, then the outside but #7 was the car to beat.  The Auto City Speedway in Clio, MI fans were going crazy along with all of the MSA (Midwest Supermodified Association) as everyone was getting their money’s worth with this racing display.  Matt in the #77 was running 5th and got passed on the final lap by another seasoned driver.  All in all a very good night for team May Motorsports.
